On Tuesday, February 11, the varsity girls play at home against Axtell, KS. The overall score was 22- 62 with Axtell coming out the winner. Ericca Gyhra led her team with nine points along with Cara Pierce scoring four, Emalyse Gottula scoring three, and Kinsley Benson, Cameron Ottersberg, and Neveah Blecha all scoring two points.
Coach Rottinghaus said, “I feel like we did a pretty good job of handling the full-court man-to-man pressure, and our half-court defense was pretty effective.” However, he thinks something the team needs to work on is not giving up too many offensive rebounds, which was giving Axtell too many second and third attempts to score on their possessions.
