On January 31, the varsity girls play Exeter-Milligan/Friend at home. Pawnee City lost with a score of 29-36. Leading in points was Kinsley Benson with 9, followed by Emalyse Gottula and Adelyn Sisco each with 7, and Ericca Gyhra with 6.
When asked how can we learn from this game to help us grow, Mr. Kluck stated “This game was a step in the right direction. EMF is 7-10 and they play a tough schedule. They're not some terrible team that we struggled against - they're a decent team that we felt like we should have beat. I thought we played a complete game and just let it slip away at the end as we struggled to make adjustments. But this wasn't a down game for us. We showed up and competed the whole game, and didn't have a dip in production or effort.”
Mr. Kluck continued, “To be neck and neck with a 7-10 team, down to the wire at the end and walk away feeling like we're the better team and should have won, that's an improvement from where we were earlier this year and certainly better than where we were last year.”
The Indians will play against Falls City Sacred Heart on February 4 in the Pioneer Conference Tournament.
