On January 28, the Pawnee City girls varsity goes up against the Lewiston Tigers. They won with a score of 55-19. Leading in points was Kinsley Benson with 22, followed by Ericca Gyhra with 14, Emalyse Gottula with 7, Cameron Ottersberg with 6, Adelyn Sisco with 5, and Cara Pierce with 1.
When asked what the team could improve on before the next game, Mr. Kluck replied, “We need to improve on the amount we turn the ball over. We threw the ball away a ton, usually by trying to make too much happen. I think we were just trying to make a little too much happen, which ended up hurting us. We also shot the ball very poorly, and should have had about 20 more points if we would have finished our layups.”
When asked about the game, Ericca Gyhra said, “ I definitely think that we weren't aggressive at the beginning, but then we finally started doing it and getting back to who we could be. Even though it looked ugly at times, we still finished strong.” She also commented that they were taking good shots and really worked on getting good post-entries.
The Indians will play again on January 31 at home against Exeter-Milligan/Friend.
