On November 19, seven Pawnee City students travel to Midland University in Fremont, NE. (Above: L to R) Kaminn Koester, Cael Johnson, Layla Fetherkile, Justin Baehr, Dante Bassinger, Aiden Tozer, and Dylan Layne.
Midland University is a private, non-profit, 4 year, Lutheran university with an approximate enrollment of 1,600 students. It was founded as Midland Lutheran College in 1883 and was renamed Midland University in 2010.
Aiden Tozer talked about his visit. “The college was pretty nice, it was big. I did enjoy my visit. The guides were nice and answered questions. The only thing that could've been better was the dorms.”
Mrs. Blecha has toured many visits. “I think that a pro is that Midland is a smaller school [compared to bigger colleges like K-State or UNL] (which isn't always for everyone). It isn't too far from PC. I think a con would be the price. Since it is a private institution, it has a higher price tag. BUT, with scholarships and other funding, that cost can come down.
Mr. Sejkora and Mrs. and Mr. Admundson are alumni of Midland.
