On Tuesday, December 10, the varsity girls basketball team plays the Tri-County Trojans. The Indians lost 32-59. The lead scorer was Maddy Osborne with 10 points followed by Cara Pierce with seven points and Emalyse Gottula with six.
When asked about the game, head coach Timothy Kluck said, “I thought we competed well against Tri-County. They're a bigger school, mostly upperclassmen, and play really hard and aggressive. In spite of that, we were able to hang with them and we did a lot of good things in this game. We tied in the second half, and I thought it felt more like a 10 point loss than a 27 point loss.” He said, moving forward, the team needs to work on not turning the ball over as much and limit the other team's offensive rebounds.
Neveah Blecha, a senior on the basketball team, said they played better than the previous games and had a good defensive game. Looking ahead, she believes they need to work on making more shots.
The Indian’s played another game Saturday, December 14, against JCC at home and will battle Lourdes Central Catholic tomorrow, December 17, in Nebraska City. Good luck girls!
