On Monday, November 11, students, staff, and guests gather for the annual Veterans Day program.

There are a lot of people who help to make our program special. Our guest speaker that day was Thomas Rother, Sergeant, 101st Airborne United States Army. Elementary, middle school, and high school choirs sang, and the high school band closed the program with their tribute to each branch of the military, playing "Marches of the Armed Forces." Travis Hall, Sergeant, Nebraska Army National Guard, presented the Remembrance Wreath. Mr. Rottinghaus had the honor of announcing the name of every Veteran in attendance for the program.

A special THANK YOU to the members of the American Legion, American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars for presenting the colors.

During the program, Ed Raper announced that Bella Seitz won 1st place in the Patriots Pen contest this year, and she was given a certificate and a $50 check.

Veterans were invited to stay for lunch that was served by the Student Council. For Symanthea McDonald, her favorite part of the day was being able to have lunch with her family. When asked what her favorite song to perform was, Tanya Sampont stated, “My favorite song to play was the Air Force theme song."

Thank you, Veterans!
