The junior high girls cross country runners place first at the Weeping Water Invite on August 29. The meet was held at the Cass County Fairgrounds. Pawnee City’s fastest runner was Aubrey Sisco with a time of 11:55. Brook Tozer had the next fastest time with 14:27, followed by Tiffany Sampont with a time of 14:37. Our last three runners, Addison Boverhuis, Ainsley Rauner, and Emily Koster, finished within a minute of each other.
Junior high boys also competed that day. Cade Johnson ran a time of 10:54, with Liam Glathar close behind him, running 11:16.
According to their coach, Heidi Koster, the students run approximately 3 miles a day at practice to prepare for their meets. The meets are 1.5 miles long.
