scrimmage

On August 23, the high school volleyball girls play against each other in a scrimmage. They started off with an open gym; then they randomly picked teams and started a game. One of the main goals of this was to see who worked best together.

When the coaches were asked how well they thought the scrimmage went, Mrs. Jordan Amundson said, “I was pleased with our scrimmage! Our girls showed the crowd what a ‘typical’ practice looked like and enjoyed it! They came out with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, which made for a fun environment that night!” As far as something they could have done better, Coach responded, “As a team, we will continue to work towards more aggressive and consistent serving and receiving.”

The assistant coach Kacie Gyhra added, “The main focus of improvement will be consistency. We have great spurts of aggressiveness at the net and in the back row, but we need to make sure it continues throughout the whole game."

Their next game is on September 6 against Dorchester.
