The cross-country runners compete on September 14 in Hiawatha, KS. Four of the seventh-grade girls placed. Addison Boverhuis placed 6th with the time of 20:53, Emily Koster placed 7th with the time of 22:42, Ainsley Rauner placed 9th with the time of 23:26, and Bella Seitz placed 10th with the time of 23:36. Haylee Plager ran with the eighth-grade girls and placed 13th with the time of 20:00.
The junior high boys also ran well. Kolbrin Farwell placed in 10th with the time of 17:38, Ryan Plager placed 12th with the time of 17:47, and Zeke Ferebee placed in 19th with the time of 20:42.
The Junior High team is done for the year, while the high school still has a couple more meets.
Anna Koster was the only high schooler who was able to run during the Hiawatha meet. Anna commented on the day, “Most of the runners did well and improved their time. For me it was hard, but most middle schoolers thought it was easy. I think as a team we did well cheering each other on and really trying our best.”
