On Sept. 7, the high school volleyball team plays Sterling and Falls City in Pawnee City. The first and only home high school volleyball games were played well but unfortunately ended with two losses. Although they lost both games, they didn’t lose every set. In the game against Sterling, the girls lost the first set and won the second. The scores were 13-25 in the first set, 25-20 in the second, and 23-25 in the third. The scores in the game against Falls City were 14-25 in the first set and 15-25 in the second.
When asked what the girls might work on for the next game, Mrs. Amundson responded, “We continue to stress the importance of serve, pass, and defense. The girls did a good job. They just fell short in that last set.”
Also that night was Parent/Senior Night and Sister Night. Seniors recognized were Kennadi Benson, Madison Fender, Hallye Friedly, and Riana McAhon. Girls in grades 3-6 who play volleyball came that night to cheer on the Indians. Following the first game of the night, team members signed autographs for the young players.
The next games will be played in Axtell, KS on Saturday, Sept. 23.
