The entire Pawnee City Cross Country team ran unforgettable races with every single runner setting a new personal record (PR) at the Falls City meet on September 24. Demonstrating grit and focus, each athlete pushed through the finish line to clock their fastest time of the season.

Varsity runner Colin Fender posted a new PR with a time of 19:56 and placed 14th. Girls Varsity athlete Brook Tozer took nearly 3 minutes off her best time, finishing with a time of 28:22, while varsity runners Kailyn Jensen and Tiffany Sampont also took minutes off their times, recording new PRs.

Adding to the day's excitement, the junior high boys cross country team ran a phenomenal race to capture a hard-earned fourth-place team finish and personal PRs. Tim Hoffman finished sixth, Alex Hall came in ninth, and Charlie Arnold and Case Gyhra were not far behind, also recording PRs. Junior high girls runners Alana Gyhra placed seventh and Lisa Holthus placed eighth, and ran exceptional races. They both finished the 1.5 mile race under 10 minutes; new PRs.

Congratulations to all of the Pawnee City runners on an exceptional meet — your dedication is paying off. The last meet of the regular season is Thursday, Oct. 8, at McCool Junction.
