The Pawnee City Junior High Cross Country team saw runners shattering their personal records by more than a minute at last week's Fairbury meet on Thursday, Sept. 10. Cross Country is a challenging sport both physically and mentally, and the junior high runners proved their mental and physical toughness, even in high temperatures, during the Fairbury meet. Dropping 60 seconds or more in a single race is a massive milestone.

Alana Gyhra shined and cut more than two minutes off of her previous week's time, while Lisa Holthus, Tim Hoffman, Alex Hall, and Case Gyhra, shaved more than one minute off of their times from the previous week.

The high school runners ran with determination and are ready for the next meet in Hiawatha on Thursday, Sept. 17.
